Our story
Closer was founded in 2023 by Sergey Kotyrev — a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years in web technology.
Sergey launched his first web company (an internet agency) back in 2000. In 2008, he founded Umisoft, the company behind UMI.CMS and the UMI website builder — two of the leading website platforms in the Russian-speaking internet, backed by a partner network of around 3,000 web developers. To date, over 1.8 million websites have been built on the UMI platform.
In 2022, Sergey relocated to Israel and set his sights on the global market. The result is Closer — a platform built on the most advanced AI technologies available today, designed to bring the best of the web within reach of every business owner, anywhere in the world.
